5 Cute Ways To Celebrate Mew Year's Day

January 3, 2022

Happy New Year to all of you! And, to our feline patients, a Happy Mew Year. (Fluffy celebrates the new year tomorrow, the 2nd, with her own kitty holiday: Mew Year’s Day.) Your cat may not be setting goals to lose weight, get into shape, or read more this year. However, she’ll still be more than happy to help you celebrate. In this article from All About Animals Veterinary Services, serving the Villa Rica GA area, a veterinarian lists some great ways to kick off the new year with your furry pal.

Play Session

Did Fluffy get some new toys for the holidays? Indulge her in a fun play session! Even if your feline friend taps out after a few half-hearted pounces, the activity will still be good for her. Remember to have some fun this coming year yourself.

Box Castle

Do you still have some leftover boxes and gift bags from the holidays? Don’t just throw them out: repurpose them as kitty hangouts. If you have kids, have them make Fluffy a box castle. This is a cute, quick project for youngsters!

Treats

We know, Fluffy has probably had at least a few special snacks over the last month or so. That doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy something yummy today. Just don’t overdo it. The key is to generally stick with healthy foods, and limit fatty treats. That’s also a great goal for people!

Moment Of Zen

If Fluffy had just one talent, it may very well be relaxing. Actually, cats can be a wonderful source of inspiration for us here. Take a cue from your drowsy pet, and be sure to get enough sleep this year. Kitties are also good examples of the importance of just taking some downtime to rest and recharge.

Movie

After a long, busy holiday season, many people like to relax on New Year’s Day. Kitties make great movie-watching buddies! Enjoy some quiet time with Fluffy tonight. If you have kids, look for a great movie that features one of our feline pals. We can’t in good conscience recommend Cats, as it was terrible, but there are plenty of great ones to choose from.
