Part-time Kennel Technician

All About Animals is seeking a friendly and compassionate kennel technician for a part-time position on our amazing team!  

First and foremost, you will be responsible for making sure our boarding facility remains clean and our furry guests are well-cared-for.  Additionally, you will be responsible for prepping vaccines, administering tests and medications, and will help our Dr. and Techs by providing hands-on assistance in exam rooms.

If you have prior veterinary experience, are able to work on weekends and holidays, are a positive person with a professional work ethic, can multi-task effectively and efficiently, and would love being an integral part of our team, then we would love to meet you!

Veterinary Assistant

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will provide primary support to the Doctor, our clients, and their VIP’s – Very Important Pets by showing a high-level of compassion and concern for every pet we see. This is a technical role that requires veterinary training and includes some of the following basic duties:

  • Perform routine lab analyses, including hematology, serology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecals, and skin scrapings.
  • Give injections in accordance with governmental regulations and doctor’s orders.
  • Monitor patients under anesthesia and assist the doctor in surgical procedures, including prepping the surgery suite and the patient.
  • Perform routine dentals in accordance with state regulations; record dental charts.
  • Perform catheterizations.
  • Administer oral drugs, wound dressings and fluid therapy.
  • Take, record and file radiographs (X-rays).
  • Monitor hospitalized and critical patients.
  • Prepare outside lab tests.
  • Fill prescriptions and prepare medications as prescribed by doctor.
  • Maintain medical equipment per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Provide client education regarding nutrition, parasite control, vaccination protocol, spaying and neutering, etc.; counsel clients regarding home care, medication administration, post-operative care, etc.
  • Maintain crash cart; maintain lab and surgical supplies, including cold tray, sterile surgical packs, oxygen and anesthesia machines.
  • Clean surgery, treatment, lab and exam rooms.
  • Provide physical therapy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
