Dog Party Day

June 15, 2020

There’s a special day coming up that has the ‘puparazzi’ up in arms: June 21 st is Dog Party Day! While you certainly don’t need an official holiday to celebrate our canine companions, this is a great time to show your pooch some extra TLC, and really get that tail wagging. In this article from All About Animals Veterinary Services, your Carrollton, GA animal hospital, serving the Villa Rica area, a local vet offers some great dog party suggestions.

Barbeque

Invite a few of your friends and family members with friendly, well-behaved pups over. Have everyone bring a dish, and fire up the grill. Offer lots of toys and treats to Fido and his buddies.

Special Treat

If there’s one thing that our canine patients unanimously love, it’s treats. Pick up some doggy ice cream for Fido and his friends. Or, you can make something yourself. You’ll find lots of great recipes online. Here’s an easy one: put pieces of kibble, bacon bits, and crushed up dog treats in an ice cube tray. Then, pour sodium-free beef broth over them and freeze overnight. Done!

Splash Around

While not all dogs like swimming, many of them enjoy splashing around a bit when it’s hot. Get a kiddie pool for Fido, or set up a sprinkler for him and his pals. (Note: we recommend getting a hose filter if you are putting up a sprinkler.)

Walk In The Park

Another cute way to celebrate is to coordinate a dog park meetup. This is a great way for Fido to enjoy a change of scenery. Your pooch will also get to sniff new grass and play with his friends. Plus, you can catch up with your friends while your pets run and play together. Talk about a win-win!

Backyard Pupgrade

Do you have a yard for your canine pal to run and play in? Make it even more fun for your furry best friend by adding some things just for him, like a doghouse, outdoor toys, or ramps. If Fido likes to chase tennis balls, get him an automated ball launcher.

Photos

No dog party is complete without adorable pet photos! Add props like hats and signs, and then use photo apps to add some finishing touches.
